No Signal – Marconi the game is a serious game produced by the Culture and Creativity Department of the Municipality of Bologna with the contribution of the Emilia Romagna Region and the scientific collaboration of the Guglielmo Marconi Foundation, the University of Bologna and the Museum of Industrial Heritage of the Bologna Civic Museums Department, as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Guglielmo Marconi. The mobile game, bilingual in Italian and English, offers escape room-style gameplay and alternates a strong narrative component with digital interactions. During the journey, the player alternates between moments of animation and moments in which they can simulate the actions of Marconi’s most famous experiments. The narrative reveals a multifaceted, modern and unconventional Marconi, an example of genius and foresight. The information conveyed through the game is quickly learned and remembered for a long time. This video game uses humour and light-heartedness to teach company employees everything they need to know about corporate cybersecurity in an engaging and effective way. ‘A touchy hacker, a job interview that went wrong, a company with employees who are not properly trained in digital security: what could possibly go wrong?!’Password1234 consists of five modules on cybersecurity topics, each consisting of several tests: by overcoming challenges and puzzles, the player will help the video game’s protagonist avoid the traps that the hacker will set in an attempt to penetrate the company’s computer systems. In doing so, they will learn to recognise cyberattack attempts and defend themselves. In addition, they will spontaneously acquire fundamental knowledge on:
- Login security
- Secure email management
- Safe web browsing
- Conscious use of social networks
- Protection from social engineering
- The training part is told through a visual novel, interspersed with games based on the concepts explained.

The experience, available in multiple languages, guides visitors through immersive first-person storytelling: the player takes on the role of an internee and discovers his story by exploring the basement of the building, reconstructed in 3D based on historical sources. Personal objects, a letter and the memory of his wife become narrative fragments that lead to the discovery of a daily life marked by imprisonment. Through interactions, soundscapes and guided narration, the journey unfolds until the dramatic arrival of the bombings, leaving room for final silence and a moment of deep reflection.

THRILL SEEKER is a rhythm game with action dynamics set in 18th-century Cremona, a dreamlike city suspended in time, birthplace of Stradivari and the violin-making tradition, recognised as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The protagonist is a young violinist who, after years of rejection and creative block, returns to the Violin Museum to prepare for a concert. But at a certain point, the lights go out and he is swallowed up by a monstrous shadow. Thus begins a journey into an unknown world, where every challenge is set to the rhythm of music. THRILL SEEKER is a sensory adventure, where immersion in gameplay blends with magnificent hand-drawn illustrations by illustrator and cartoonist Caterina Bonomelli. Music, audio and sound effects were created using Stradivari Violin software, for a unique and immersive audio experience.

Platforms: iOS, Android Virivì e l’ombra della pioggia (Virivì and the shadow of rain) is an adventure for children (aged 9-12) about preparing for the risk of flooding. The version available in stores was co-financed (budget £40k) with the ACTERRA project, call for proposals “multi-risk science for resilient communities under a changing climate (RETURN)”. The game is set in a hypothetical village in Basilicata where the elf Virivi (a metaphor for risk awareness: he warns but is misunderstood and seen as a jinx) involves the protagonist in what turns out to be a photographic hunt for risks and vulnerabilities in his territory. On the trail of the elusive elf, the player will be asked to associate photographed situations with content unlocked in the dialogues and to develop concepts of geography, civic and environmental education to complete the research notebook. The relaxing and enjoyable experience (90 minutes) provides players with an overview of the phenomenon and a valuable list of concrete “dos” and “don’ts” that can be applied in the event of an incident.
