Luca Rea
Graduated in Telecommunications Engineering at “La Sapienza” University of Rome (2005), he has worked at Fondazione Ugo Bordoni ever since, initially on Quality of Service in TLC networks. Since 2008, appointed by MIMIT, he has monitored Broadband Plans, and in 2009 he led the “Internet Measurement” project (AGCOM 244/08/CSP), contributing to KPI development for 5G networks. Since 2012 he has been active in ITU as deputy national rapporteur in the “Performance and QoS” group, contributing to standardization of measurement methods and metrics. He coordinated Smart Grid projects, studied 5G for transport, and since 2018 has been MIMIT’s “Responsible for monitoring 5G pilot projects.” He is Head of the TLC Area at FUB, with extended responsibilities in spectrum management and broadcasting. Author of 50+ scientific publications, he is a member of the NaMeX Technical Committee and of the Order of Engineers of Rome. In 2023, upon MIMIT’s application, he was selected by NATO as civil expert in the CCPG group. Since 2019, on behalf of MIMIT, he has been carrying out technical-scientific monitoring of CTE’s individual projects.
